PRESS RELEASE

As part of the actions to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the Ephorate of Antiquities of West Attica, in collaboration with the Attica Region, organizes an anniversary event at the wall of Agia Triada in Megara, entitled

"On the Wall of Agia Triada
1821: memories, tears, dances "

In the idyllic environment of the wetland of Vourkari, at the neck of the peninsula of Agia Triada, against the backdrop of the impressive fortification work and a unique example of the walls of the Greek Revolution in the region of Attica, a historical retrospection is attempted with the wall, inspired by the special and timeless symbolism of the monument - a landmark for the area.

Through texts and images that will be projected on the wall, songs by the enchanting voice of Katerina Papadopoulou, musical improvisations by the team of internationally renowned musician Socrates Sinopoulos, and dances by dance groups of local cultural and folklore associations, the event recalls the years of the struggle for independence, illuminating the historical dimension of the monument.
