The collection of exhibits of the Museum mainly includes findings from the excavations at the site of the Sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, and secondarily burial material from the so-called Western Cemetery, the main necropolis of Elefsina, and from the extensive Southern Cemetery on the south slope of the acropolis. The archaeological exhibits date from prehistoric to late Roman times. The museum is located inside the archaeological site of Eleusis.

The ancient city of Megara was built in a fertile region with easy and rapid access to two fortified ports, Nisaea on the Saronic Gulf and Pagae on the Gulf of Corinth. It extended around the two acropolises of Alkathos and Karia. Megara flourished from the 8^th to the 7^th c. BC, developing significant commercial and colonizing activity. The Archaeological Museum of Megara presents objects that have come to light from rescue excavations by the former III Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in the city of Megara and the surrounding region.

The Archaeological Collection of Acharnes is located since 2006 in a rented building, close to the Mycenaean tholos tomb. The exhibits come primarily from Acharnes and its adjoining municipalities (Kephissia, Agioi Anargyroi, Metamorfosi) and represent all habitation phases dating from the Late Neolithic to the Middle Byzantine period (4600 BC-12^th c. AD) The finds come from rescue excavations carried out on privately-held properties and within the context of the construction of large public works. 

The exhibition inside the metro station presents findings from the excavations conducted along the path of the Sacred Way. The 17 showcases of the exhibition house original objects and copies related to different aspects and activities of life in antiquity. The connecting link of all of them is the course of the Sacred Way.
