"Culture for all: Museums and monuments without exclusions"
The Department of Educational Programs and Communication Department of Archaeological Museums, Exhibitions and Educational Programs organizes on 29-30 November 2018, Interdisciplinary Seminar, entitled "Culture for everyone: museums and monuments inclusive" .
The purpose of the two-day event is to make public to the scientists and the general public the results of the various communication and educational activities designed in recent years by the Museums and Ephorate of Antiquities of the Ministry of Culture, in order to address socially excluded categories (disabled, refugees, economic migrants, detainees in detention facilities, the mentally ill, drug addicts, etc.), which due to their social, cognitive, psychological or other peculiarities are usually outside the policies of managing and "reading" cultural property. At the same time, the aim of the Two-Day Conference is to utilize the experience gained from the implementation of the above actions, in order to create the basis for the development of systematic initiatives that will be addressed to groups of the public with the stigma of social exclusion, seeking to reduce the catalytic feeling of isolation that they experience.
The two-day event, which will be hosted in Athens in the amphitheater of the Directorate of Documentation and Protection of Cultural Property (33 Agioi Asomaton and Psaromiligou, in Thiseio) will be open to the public.
